Let It Ride Poker Rules and Strategy
Let It Ride is a one of the simplest Poker variations of all. It is easy to learn and play is fast. The goal is to get the best possible Poker hand using your own cards and the dealer hand (the community cards).
LET IT RIDE RULES
For the game of Let It Ride, a standard deck of fifty-two cards is used.
To start the game, a player puts forward three wagers of equal value. These are placed on three separate circles.
Next, the player is dealt three cards face down. These cards correspond to the three bets.
The player looks at their cards. If unhappy with their cards, they may take back their first bet (or "ante"). If content with their cards, they can "let it ride," meaning the bets stay.
The dealer draws one "community card" and lays it face up on the table.
Now the player has four cards - his own three cards plus the dealer's card. If the player does not like the combination, they can take back their second bet (whether or not they retracted the first bet).
The dealer then reveals a second and final community card.
The player loses or gets paid depending on their hand. A pair of Ten cards or better means a break-even. Anything less than that and the player loses their bets. Anything higher is paid according to the payout schedule.
LET IT RIDE STRATEGY
After being dealt your three cards, you can "let it ride" if…
- You have a pair of Ten cards or higher - You have cards that can make a Royal Flush - You have a possible Straight Flush with high cards - You have consecutive cards of same suit except Ace to Three or Two to Four (too low)
Otherwise you may wisely retract a bet.
After the first dealer card is given, you can again "let it ride" if…
- You have a pair of Ten cards or better - You are just one card short of a Royal Flush - You are just one card short of a Straight Flush - You are just one card short of a Flush - You are just one card short of an open-ended straight (that is, one that can be completed with either of two cards) - You are jus one card short of an inside straight with all four cards ranked high (Ten or higher)
Let It Ride is very easy to play. You can play it online, in a real casino, or with computer game. Let It Ride is a good option for Video Poker buffs making the transition to table Poker, as well as Holdem veterans who want a change.
