House of Cards in Poker

Among the card games played all over the world, poker is the most played card game, especially in casinos. For the amateurs, playing poker develops the skill of bluffing and for the professionals, having the right poker hand beats the game with the skill of bluffing.

Poker hands do not refer to the hands of the players but rather, refer to the combination of cards the players hold that will give them a greater edge in the game and win the pot. All of the poker hands always have five cards for a combination. The poker hands are a combination of communal cards like the numbers 2 to 10 and non-communal cards like the face cards. The term communal refers to the common cards that are valued according to the number and vice versa. There are a variety of poker hands and mostly, these hands are also present in other card games.

The examples of poker hands are the royal flush and the straight flush. The royal flush is one of the poker hands that is given the highest ranking and is consists of four face cards and a communal card of 10 that are in sequence of the same suit. But the highest rank is given to the poker hand with a royal flush in the suit of hearts. One of the poker hands of flush is the straight flush. This poker hand is composed of five communal cards in sequence of the same suit. The simple flush is a combination of five cards of the same suit with no sequence.

Other varieties of poker hands are full house, four of a kind and three of a kind. A full house is composed of three cards of the same kind and a pair. The four of a kind and three of a kind poker hands are derived from their card combinations. Four of a kind has all of the four cards from each suit and three of a kind has three cards from different suits.

If a player happens to have a set of five cards without sequence and same suit, this poker hand is called garbage. This poker hand has the lowest rank among the poker hands. This type of poker hand is also known as a high card or no pair.
